Retinol and Retinol Alternatives
Retinoids are considered the gold standard in anti-aging skincare and are one of the most effective ingredients for improving skin texture, tone, and overall skin health. Derived from Vitamin A, retinoids help accelerate skin cell turnover, stimulate collagen production, and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne, enlarged pores, and discoloration. They are a cornerstone of any dermatologist-recommended skincare routine for healthy aging.
Important: If you're new to retinoids, start by applying them 2–3 evenings per week, then gradually increase frequency as your skin builds tolerance. Mild dryness, peeling, or redness is normal during the adjustment period. Always apply retinoids at night, moisturize as needed, and wear a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every morning.
