Butyloctyl Salicylate is a hidden chemical ingredient found in some sunscreens labeled as “100% mineral.” It can cause skin irritation, artificially boost the SPF number, and may not be reef-safe. Here is our list of mineral sunscreens that do NOT contain this ingredient.
